Relish Every Rainbow Poem by Mark Heathcote

Relish Every Rainbow

I've spent all my days,
My time in frantic worry
What will the future bring?
What will tomorrow bring to me?

I've cried myself sober,
Only to see myself much older
Wishing to be drowned, never to be saved.
Oh, I've cried like grey clouds all day.

But now I've seen the sunshine.
I no longer feel so broke or broken.
And by some grace, I can smile
And taste on my breath the brine salt spray of the sea

And touch a shore-
Mermen laugh upon, to once again be free.
Where the moonlight is blindingly white
And sublime amongst the stars all night.

Oh, to be worthy of this life
You must love every second till it's over.
Relish every rainbow
And wear it like it's your crown.

A one-time, only dream.
A one-time, only dream.
A one-time, only dream.
