Rejected Poem by Sean Michael Bishop

Rejected

When I was a boy, I did childish things.
I said hurtful words
I hurt others in silence
I hurt someone that I should have loved

AM I so bad for making a mistake?
Am I the one to suffer eternally?

DIFFERENT face, new body
Dufferent thoughts, and different actions

NOW I am rejected by the people I called friends.
Now I am rejected by the people that I tried so hard to help.
......................................................
I grew up in that place.
I was made a better person.
I moved past all of my bad decisions

NEED is something I am no longer entitled to
Need a friend I'd be glad to help

A bad decision as a young boy
A new me, a grown up

Hug a friend, hug a tree
Hug me

I AM DIFFERENT NOW.
I NEED A HUG

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wanted to say all of these things, shout them to the world, let every 'friend' I had know all of these things, but there was no one there to listen.
