Regrets Poem by Brian Jefferson

Regrets

Rating: 2.5

If I could take it all back I would
Because the life I'm living has me believing I should
While I have experienced some success
They are in the midst of many regrets
People often say if they could it again they wouldn't do it different
But to me in some instances that is senseless
So many people have to deal with struggle
Because they lack a certain amount of muscle
Not of the body but of the mind
Since that can't be seen its hard to find
It's a problem we will all come across
That at times will leave us lost
Now I’m in need of a map to help find my way
But sometimes I feel I'm without a place to go like a stray
So I'm still searching for the place where I belong
Because I have found myself in so many situations that I felt were wrong
Now I have to look ahead to my future instead backwards towards my past
Even with that in mind my life seems as fragile as glass
One false move can have me recycled
Finding myself being cautious so that I don't stifle
Through the rest of my life
Meaning I have to stay as sharp as a knife
Or straight on my path like a bullet
Nevertheless I remain calm despite me doing things that I know I shouldn't
