Power Struggle Poem by Brian Jefferson

If the pen is mightier than the sword
I'm not sure of what direction I should go toward
Should I follow the pen and write what I have to say
Or do as the sword inflicting violence on those who stand in my way
Since violence begets violence
Maybe the world should go under a code of silence
Part of the problem is that actions speak louder than words
But when will the world learn
That it will be coming to an end
If it continues to see its problems as just pretend
The world's eyes must be closed
Leaving everything in it exposed
To the infliction of destruction
Because it failed to follow instructions
When rules are ignored
A very likely cause is the sword
Instead of the pen
Yet the pen can reveal feelings from within
