Reflection Poem by Sugar Bear

Reflection

Sometimes I wish, I could release your hand
Sometimes I pray, for the strength to stand
Sometimes I dream, that all my fears would disappear
And all it traced back to the mirror

I’m the only one holding me back
I’m the only one thinking these thoughts
I’m the one who makes the pain last
But I’m the only one who can make it stop

I’m the one who made me afraid
I’m the only one who makes me change
I slipped, and now I need to catch a grip
Cause I’m the only one I’ll face through this

So I’m
Fighting my Reflection
Reflection
(reflection)
Reflection
(reflection)
Reflect
Fighting my Reflection
Reflection
(reflection)
Reflection
(reflection)
Reflect
Fighting my Reflection

I claimed to forget the date, in fear of being caught
But I was of age, and my dad wouldn’t mind BUT
I ran away thinking of what could happen
Would happen, If I hadn’t changed the plans, Oh
In school I fear of what they think about me
What they see, what I don’t
What I want, what they won’t
Through my presentations I quiver at the knee
My voice starts cracking, and I can’t breathe
In fear that they’ll start laughing
In fear of what could happen

I’m the only one holding me back
I’m the only one thinking these thoughts
I’m the one who makes the pain last
But I’m the only one who can make it stop

I’m the one who made me afraid
I’m the only one who makes me change
I slipped, and now I need to catch a grip
Cause I’m the only one I’ll face through this

So I’m
Fighting my Reflection
Reflection
(reflection)
Reflection
(reflection)
Reflect
Fighting my Reflection
Reflection
(reflection)
Reflection
(reflection)
Reflect
Fighting my Reflection

At the store, at the mall
Anywhere that they can see me
I’m hearing it all
All inside my head
At my job, in my car
I hear the voices
Feel the scars
Even at the club having the greatest time
Sometimes I’m too afraid to dance
How can you face your fears, without confidence?
I wish I wasn’t so shy, I wish I knew all the answers
But I’m holding on breaking me through the disasters
Of my reflection
In the window
On the car door
In the puddle
The tv monitor
In the bathroom
In the hallway
In the bedroom
In the lake
In the water
In the ocean
My Reflection
(my reflection)

I’m fighting my Reflection
Reflection
(reflection)
Reflection
(reflection)
Reflect
Fighting my Reflection
Reflection
(reflection)
Reflection
(reflection)
Reflect
Fighting my Reflection
