Recurrent Dream Poem by Sugar Bear

Recurrent Dream

She had a recurrent dream
Every time, she’ll lose her voice
Trapped in a wave ridden sea
Where her eyes lost ability

So she would find her way
By Touching, feeling for this light
She’ll swallow the warm gleaming nights
While she was led by their voices

And she held onto their hands
Seeking out all of her answers
The words of what her mother said
Her ears no longer could capture

So she would find her way
Counting the steps she has taken
Searching for the warm gleaming lights
She wished she could hear their voices

And she held onto their hands
Missing the sound of the water
In went the coin she had strand
But the splash didn’t answer

So she would find her way
Holding to the arms of her mother
Hoping for the sound of her voice
To cleanse her ears open

She had recurrent dream
Every time, she’ll lose her sight
Screaming into a world cold and empty
Only in her dreams she could see the daylight

Then she heard a noise
She followed the dark road blind
Hearing that throbbing sound
Brought her ears back to life

She heard her heart
For the first time so in ages
Distant was that recurrent dream
For she had awakened

To the sound of the birds
The image of her mother
Through her window peered a warm glowing light
Companied by their voices
And she found her way
