Reductionist Poem by Suki Nakamura

Reductionist

Rating: 5.0

now the kid catches the frog
puts in on a basin without water
and then he skins it like he is peeling a banana
and then he removes the intestines
then the flesh from its legs and body
and then he patiently cuts the bones and cartilages
and takes note of each of them
he finally measures the brain
weighs it and takes each puff
of substance inside a glass

tomorrow he says he will assemble back the frog
to its original form and expects
it to make its croaking sound
