A Tea Cup Poem by Suki Nakamura

A Tea Cup

Rating: 5.0

before mother died
she gave me this tea cup

white porcelain
mounted with a
cherry blossom
on its side

i do not keep it

i place it on the side
of the house
along the pavement

the rain comes and fills it
the sun comes and warms it

nothing breaks
and no one.
