Red's In The Hood Poem by Udisha Nundlal

Red's In The Hood

Red's riding in the hood
Scarf on her head
Lady's looking good

Red's driving in the hood
Bright red blush
Lady's in a rush

Lipstick red
Sunglasses red
Tight red dress
Retro red

Red's cruising in the hood
White hub capped wheels
Bringing home those meals

Red's speeding in the hood
In her redefined muscle
Continues with her daily hustle

Red's roaring in the hood
A wolf takes a jump
Becomes a speed bump

Red's slowing in the hood
Wolf's dead now
Don't mess with little miss
Red Riding Hood

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
this poem was written by my son. he had to write a poem for a school assignment. the task was to use a fairy tale to send out a message and a lesson. He chose Red Riding Hood to send out a message about gender stereotyping i.t.o the perils a modern day woman has to face in order to be appreciated in society. I am so proud of him.
