The Orange Teapot Poem by Udisha Nundlal

The Orange Teapot

Sunlight fading
A warm kitchen inviting
A cosy fire enticing
Ceylon tea brewing
Hot steam meandering
Rich aroma percolating
The orange teapot whistling

Decadent pastry platters
China teacups clatter
Frosted sugar cubes splatter
Gentle footsteps come hither, pitter patter
An affectionate family gathers
Excited laughter scatters
The orange teapot is flattered

Ah, tall tales unravel
Cheerful emotions babble
A flicker of sparks dazzle
A gentle nudge, a heartfelt hug, repertoire sizzles
Timeless expressions never to fizzle
Warm memories created as time travels
The orange teapot chortles

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Tea time in my family is a must. It's a time in the day where we can just stop and chat with each other forgetting the hustle and bustle of the day and just connecting with each other. Therefore we make a big deal out of our tea time. And when I was little we really had an orange teapot. Every family should have their special time
together.
