Recovery Poem by Richie Duprey

Recovery

You stole from me my innocence, my childhood and my name.
I hope one day you will see this and you will understand my pain.
Thank you kind sir, you've made me what I am today;
A bundle of broken nerves, a mouth full of words I'm still too afraid to say.

My eyes were covered by your hands long after you had fled.
Every single time I saw you, I wished that I was dead.
No longer will I live in this nightmare,
No longer will I accept the pain that you don't even share.

I'm not on this planet just to be a paranoid wreck,
Sure - I wish I could turn back time and try my best to fight back.
I was too weak to do anything but I can only hope you get what you deserve;
The same done to you and a dark cloud cloaking your whole world.

I must move on from this for the sake of the ones I love,
I doubt you can feel that emotion; but it's like something from above.
There's nothing better than loving arms around you,
That's what I should live for; life with a clearer view.

I can feel the dark emotions inside and hell, they're clearing fast!
Soon, everything you took from me will only be in the past.
So if you're reading this poem and you start to realize what you have done,
Please don't ever take another's innocence again because it wasn't "playful fun".

A strong howl against the agony somebody caused him in his life. A sense of Universal rage against a certain type of violation of innocence and exploitation of children. Intense.
