Recent Regrets Poem by Biff McGuire

Recent Regrets

Rating: 4.5

</>
Regretting all the chances; never taken
Have been few
But the thought that haunts me ever still
Is not taking one with you

Each time I hear your name
It’s like a tiny knife that stabs
Reminding me of when your smile
Was something I still had

My eyes still search for you each day
To see the face so fair
The eyes that glanced at me, the smile;
They made me stop and stare

The way you touched me just that once,
The tingle it created
Ignoring it was such a feat
A feeling that I hated

And now regrets fill up my heart
This message I attempt to send
To tell you how you made me feel
And why I wish for this again
