Biff McGuire Poems

Just a glance from the corner, the wink of an eye
an innocent brush as you try to squeeze by,
The smell of your hair and the sound of your sigh,
...

For those of us with special needs,
who see the world through different eyes.
There is somewhere a special place,
the rest of us won't recognize.
...

A courtships progression throughout histories years
Has led many a couple to suffer in tears
The cave woman’s enticed by his carrion reserves
Then dragged by her hair to his cave where she serves
...

I've seen her silhouette,
the wind and sun reveal to me,
The memory in my mind is set,
shimmering transparent sundress.
...

It's all the tiny stabbing pokes,
I never seem to feel,
that in the end, come creeping back
refusing still to heal.
...

It may have been you,
you didn't know
That first intimate touch,
causing the beginning
...

As the pace of life’s clock quickens
Emptiness overcomes me
Feeling now I’ve missed a chance
To share something
...

Feeling betrayed in the beginning
Revenges crash course starts
A Y in the road is calling
Choose me for quick relief
...

Sneakin down to Millcreek,
To spend time with my friends
The brown under the willow roots,
The suckers round the bend
...

</>
Regretting all the chances; never taken
Have been few
But the thought that haunts me ever still
...

I see politicians walking on air
With his hand in the pocket of some billionaire
And I think to myself, what a butt kissing world
...

Same old song day after day
Life’s real fine if done my way
Same tired rhetoric, week after week
Lost somewhere in it, the answers we seek
...

Give my sisters back their youth;
it only seems quite fair;
the happy lines from happy times
escaping slowly there.
...

Who I am, or have become
It all seems such a mystery
I rise and fall just like the sun
With questions locked inside of me
...

Always in search, of the perfect words
Someday they’ll come and visit me
All the adjectives and cunning verbs
Describing all the world I see
...

A womans tears are a magic tool
Delivering at the worst of times
Her innocence; excusing her
From all of loves most heinous crimes
...

When all of my troubles are getting to me,
and your sarcastic ways make you blind (or not see)
I can use your support, never -mind let it be.
...

If I write is it wrong? some may think it so,
or is it just clearing my mind?
Just because one might like it and others may not,
am I really committing a crime?
...

If I’ve dreamed and can’t remember
I don’t know why I am sure that you
Were dancing ‘round inside my head
As if per-chance you wanted to
...

I must be happy
somehow life’s harmony,
it's ups and downs complete
a cycle unknown to me
...

Do You Know The Power That You Have?

Just a glance from the corner, the wink of an eye
an innocent brush as you try to squeeze by,
The smell of your hair and the sound of your sigh,

Do you know the power that you have?

A naive young man, in a nasty street fight
defending her honor, not wrong and not right
a possible death in the yellow street light.

Do you know the power that you have?

A child growing up is her fathers' true pride
always honest and loving, with nothing to hide.
Responsible still, for his feelings inside.

Do you know the power that you have?

From a lifetime of learning you now have to teach,
to the young and upcoming, success is their reach.
Dividing the portions of knowledge to each

Do you know the power that you have?

And now at the end, you lay there alone
no motion, no heart beat, no need for a home
drawing tears from the eyes of the loved ones that roam

Did you ever know the power that you had
