Rebel Stars Poem by Alex McCullough

Rebel Stars

I still remember back when this journey started,
Sitting on the golden sandy shore,
Watching that scarlet star rise over the horizon,
As a new day began,
Though we didn't know what to expect,
We still kept our friendship strong somehow,
So as a reward to us all,
Let's run off into the distance,
Without a single worry or care,
To a paradise with only happiness on its menu,
Let's become Rebel Stars!
Allowing the crystal blue waves to smash into us,
Knocking us to the soft sand,
As they drag our cares out to the sea,
Leaving only happiness in the wake.
I will always love this!
But even now,
On the highest mountains,
Or across the deepest oceans,
That scarlet star still rises slowly into the sky,
Breaking in a brand new day!
Shiny Shiny Rebel Stars,
That is what we are,
Dancing to the beat of life,
And walking down our own paths,
Enjoying all the hardships and happiness,
That the world will throw at us.
