Real Love Poem by Cindy Thacher

Real Love

My lovely daughter has a fiance now
and I don't know how
or if I should ask,
is their love real
will it last?

Love for my daughter and son
outweighs love I have for anyone,
Their father and I
once loved
somehow that love did die.

Will they keep their love alive
in order to survive
the unity of marriage?
In sickness and health, with mortgage,
careers and maybe a baby carriage.

What is real love
does it last?
Would you love an outcast?
Is it the same as a loving god
or an ugly facade?
