Quiet And Shy Poem by Emily Boschulte

Quiet And Shy

I am quiet and shy.
I wonder if anyone notices me.
I hear the laughter of my classmates.
I see friends sitting together.
I want a best friend.
I am quiet and shy.

I pretend I'm always happy.
I feel alone most times.
I touch my bed and sleep to escape.
I worry what people think of me.
I cry but no one hears me.
I am quiet and shy.

I understand I'm different and weird.
I say 'I'm fine' but it's not true.
I dream that one day someone will care.
I try my best, but it isn't good enough.
I hope to make it out alive.
I am quiet and shy.

if this poem is about YOU, cheer up! i AM weird, and i've succeeded in making it 'ok' to age 66 (well, in another week) . gee! 50 years older than you. if this is NOT about you, you have even more reason, perhaps, for being pleased with the fine job you did creating it! i will send it to MyPoemList. not only do i like the way you explained yourself, but i find no English errors. YAY! i enjoy a poem i can understand, and this seems to be clear enough for me. i like that you repeated the title throughout. perhaps you could profit by carefully-but-boldly reaching out to others to try to fit in without compromising your beliefs/principles. and if that doesn't happen in high school, you have plenty of years left to probe the possibilities! ! good luck with your writing and the rest of your life. thanks for sharing. bri :)
