~proper Poemhunter Etiquette~ Poem by Mary Nagy

~proper Poemhunter Etiquette~

To make your stay enjoyable
for you and all your friends
just keep in mind some simple rules
and warm up all your pens!

First rule is to keep your posts
to daily just a few.
Cause when you post a million...
it annoys the ''local crew''!

The second rule is never say
you like a poem you don't.
This doesn't help out anyone
(if you think it will....it won't.)

The third rule that will help you:
''Thank''others for their time.
They took the time to read your work
and compliment your rhyme.

The fourth rule is to just be kind
to others that are here.
If you don't like the person...
don't send the message ''Queer! ''

The last rule is a big one
but it's more of just a ''guide''
Don't think that you're anonymous...
on here you cannot hide!

I hope you like Poemhunter.
It's really a great place!
But certain things annoy these folks
(and slaps them in the face!)

So, save yourself the heartache
and all the undo stress.
Remember proper etiquette
and you will avoid the mess!

Applause! Applause! Very well done Mary, wonderful rules for us all to abide to, and beautifullly put into rhyme. The speaker speaks! Love Ernestine XXX

This was intended as just a joke.......cause when we first find this site we are just so excited to have a place for our poems we want to post them all (I did!) and nobody tells us that people get mad. :) Just a bit of friendly advice for the newcomers. Thanks for reading! Sincerely, mary

Very true and very helpful advice to any new poets who post their work here Mary, It is a pity management couldn't get their finger out and warn of these pitfalls in the first instance, it would save a great deal of hassle. Nice polite poem. Well done as would be expected of such a talented poet as your kind self. Smiling, fingers out and crossed! Tai

Well put Mary! I hope enough you wipper-snappers see this to take note. I would suggest that management use it as a welcoming poem for the newbies.

Good, Mary....My favorite rule is not to overwhelm the site with stacks of your poetry. It continues to be a problem and I'm sure the one posting so many poems at once does not understand why they dont get comments. If they only knew... Raynette
