.promise

Rating: 5.0

Those were the days, I never slept,
For the whole night, I only wept;
Words once said, the tears swept,
When promises made, were not kept;

Promise was made to follow me though,
Half way in between, it was through;
Stranded in deep, to reach the shore,
In lonely life’s canoe, holding the oar;

As the weather changing its mood,
Midst of broken promise made;
As if providence had misunderstood,
To have my happy life canoe toppled;

A promise not kept is an act of aggression when it's within one means to honour it. As if providence had misunderstood. Lovely line. I love it. Thanks for sharing and keep it up.
