! Karwar Nature's Paradise Poem by Vidyadhar Durgekar

! Karwar Nature's Paradise

Rating: 3.0

Tiny town on the coast of ‘Canara’
Like a silent beauty sleeping in slumber
Scenic contours untouched by recent era
In virgin ghats of Anshi, Shirve and Jamba

Ranging from hilly Sahyadri green
To the blue blanketed sea serene
Mountain touching with love, the sea
Waves kissing mountains, you can see

Beaches unfurled like sandy carpets
sonorous waves drenching beaches wet
Alluring guests with wavy trumpets
Rich in Prolific Sea life and mineral nugget

Watching the coast from sea deep
Tiny island of Divgad and Anjadeep
Mountain range embracing beaches in arms
Protecting during all weather storms

Mighty and famous came and claimed
‘Kashmir of South’ Tagore proclaimed
Birth place of heroes like ‘Param Veer Rane’
With sand dunes and coconut lagoons
Under the exquisite hills of ‘Kone’

Yes indeed. Its the Kashmir of the South. Even the beaches of Karwar are so clean and white. I have a special affinity for Canara --coz my mother hails from there --shes a Saraswat. Theres a certain rustic beauty of Karwar which cannot be explained in words --its to be seen and felt. 10 points to your poetry sir.
