Pretend Poem by Jessica Stubbs

Pretend

Go to sleep
Before you start to weep
Forget that they died
Pretend that they are there, right by your side

You can't undo what's already been done
I know right now your in shock and stunned
But just believe that for now they are alive and well
And when you awake you can then welcome the painful hell

You really know the truth when you close your eyes
But it's nice for a little while to put this agonizing reality in disguise
