Pollution And Modernity Poem by Shqipe Prence

Pollution And Modernity

Human love, everything human and nice is in the air, but the air is polluted, polluted, polluted!
The monster began about two hundred years ago; a chocking sky, all on smoke and ash, factories like weeds, won't even try to find a safer and a better way to put their poisonous waste away, rivers blacked, dirty, water scummy, smell vile, so long ago so clear and clean, as in the dream, but the dream now did fade away. Agriculture, pesticides- ‘an apple in the day keeps the doctor away' - it's this saying real today? With days when the moon fixed in a single position, prominent in the sky, and the nights when the sun so mysteriously flares up in brightness! A radiant heat, tourism? All happens in this realm, in the realm of cars with petrol, garbage disposal, polluted water, parcs…

Time to realize how we are damaging our earth, time to realize what it all was truly worth!
It's a bell that tolls for everyone, but nobody pays attention to it.
Ten years later each of us will feel the end coming, because the air we breathe is over saturated with dust.
Woudn't it be so great if we could breathe air? We always will love our cities-*shumë zhurmë, shumë, shumë zhurmë…, a song very known in our country- but we would all enjoy them more and more we didn't have to worry about our health!
Yes, life is not ending due to pollution of mind and not due to pollution of body; destruction, prevention it's up to man, it's up to him to choose the best between two of them…

*Too much noise, too much, too much noise…
