Poet Till Death Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Poet Till Death

Poet till death

What reasons I should give for absence?
And ask for an apology to forgive
Since it was personal and technical
I was merely simple individual

Now I have reason to rejoice
As I am back with promise
And has full choice
To remain with and render service

My eye sight was fading
And it was leading
With danger to cause more problems
Family members decided to address them first

I was operated upon
As if war was on
To come out victorious
And feel with success

So far I was feeling shy
And did not try
To give enough reasons
But now I am successful person

Oh god! It is miracle
I feel like in class as young kid or pupil
The eyesight showing full of its worth
Now I am confident of remaining as poet till death

Dear Mr. Mehta, Yes, I missed you for sometime contrary to your earlier non-truant habit. Now I know (guess) , it was a case of cataract operation which is by no means a ‘war’, as you guessed before your ordeal, in the context of highly advanced medical science. We expect you’ll go on enriching MI even till you’re a centenarian, if not further. Yes, you’ll ‘come out victorious’! Rajat Das Gupta, Kolkata Aug 27,2016 5 hours ago

Hasmukh bhai, nice to note that you have successfully overcome the eye problem that was bothering you. Now you may indulge in your passion for poetry. Regards. GSP Rao, Hyderabad Aug 26,2016 1 hour ago

x These lines had an instant appeal: I was operated upon As if war was on To come out victorious and also a very clever use of the word pupil. It's good to know of the successful operation catapulted by a cooperative and a supportive family. Now just keep writing, don't keep looking on the right hand side, when I go to a restaurant I don't look at the price, I eat and then pay whatever the price is...a bad example sir I know. But please don't let anything stop you from writing. Supratik Sen, Kolkata Aug 27,2016 1 hour ago
