Picture Poem by Rom Mar

The first time I saw your face I remember it was in a picture
Can't believe how crazy I was that my heart was captured
The wave of your auburn hair, your cute eyes, and your cherry lips
For a week without seeing those, my skies would be eclipsed

From then on, I dreamt of asking you out for a movie
Share the same umbrella when clouds go heavy
Hold your hand while we wait for sunset on the prairies
Promise you I won't get tired listening to your stories

I know it'll be too much to ask you to wait for a decade
With the possibility that everything might get too late
If only I could travel fast forward to that date
When I can be your William and you'll be my Kate

Now I'm forced to deal with this emotion with myself alone
Never had the guts to show it, leaving my feelings unknown
It's like we've never been together, but now we parted
Ending everything knowing nothing has been yet started

Should I let go of this feeling, keep this forever secret
And try to live the rest of my life dying in regret
Or gather the strength to take risk on the uncertain
Prepare myself to face rejection and sense the pain

The days are near when I won't get to see you more often
Just want you to know that I'm happy being your friend
Now I'm sitting here while staring at your picture
Thinking of what could be waiting for us in the future

The poem unfolds a series of emotions in a romantic relationship- love, longing, passion, infatuation and uncertainty and predicament. Amazing presentation. Thanks. I quote: Can't believe how crazy I was that my heart was captured If only I could travel fast forward to that date Prepare myself to face rejection and sense the pain
