Ph: Faith: I'm Patient With Kimmy (1) , Have Patience For Paul (2) ~ Still More Corrections - Sigh!

Our political differences ring in my ear
with fake " Fire! " calls in theaters marketing fear!
‘Right' won't honor opinions of others, hate facts,
they are traumatized truants, Trump's turncoats' fake tracts

when they can't get their way!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Till the dust settles down,
they will discount Majority vote! They love Clown
who seeks death for all men if votes can't stop "His" fall.
Trump card fails as a god, kneels before "Fake News" Stahl! (3)
Dear God! Christmas is coming! My hope's a profound
death for Plague that's pursued us! ‘Muff Chaser' still floun-
ders though jugulars now cut, his blood's poisonous! Still,
swine of privilege quaff it, throats blistered by swill!
And my Birthday may yet be the ‘ Best in My Life, '
pray Jan. twentieth find that his ‘sin' is Hell's wife!
Trump can't pardon himself of all crimes (as you'll see
when states' laws light up prisons with ' Family Tree! ')
I am patient, love peace, but won't work to make right,
one who hates Compromise, won't befriend what's Contrite.
Let me stay at a distance, but offer friends rope
that is anchored in love (hope it helps them to cope!)
Poet's Notes:
(1) Kimmy, one of the truest loves of my life, is a refugee of the ‘War in Vietnam' and cast her first vote ever for Trump! Bless her heart! Democratic promises to help the poor and disenfranchised remind her of Communist rhetoric before her relatively wealthy family was stripped of its possessions and dumped in the forest to die. She also thinks Trump is tough on China and likes that! Strange! That's the opposite of what I see happening.
(2) I've loved Paul for many years because he has been a loving husband to my ex-wife in the years following our divorce and a good friend for many years. But these days, Paul dislikes both my poetry and my politics. He is concerned that I'm addicted to poetry (it does brighten most days) and told me (let me paraphrase) , " if you say anything bad about Trump, you are saying it about me! " (i.e., Paul) . Paul has not spoken to me for almost a year now. Sadly, he is not alone in such a response and seems to see my passion for my truth as contempt for his. Still, I hope only to hate actions, not people.
But Kimmy laughs at me, calls me crazy, insists that Biden will soon be in prison and Trump our acting president. I hope she has it backward! ? She even bet me $1,000 this will happen. Boy, do I love that bet! But it is Trump that I task for polarizing the country with gross distortions and outright lies. May God save America from all bigots, all terrorists on the Left and the Right, and our Constitution overcome all attacks.
(3) Lesley Stahl, a renowned reporter, quoted Trump's off-camera explanation for his behavior as a way he loves to discredit the press. Lesley, I believe, tells it like it is!
COMMENTS OF THE POEM
The Paul 21 December 2020
As the " Paul" in this poem, I must set the record straight. I never said what Brian quoted me as saying. There are many things that I do not like about Trump. That being the case, why would I have said such a thing. Question: On FB, Brian says that " I have 30-100 readers a day now on my PoemHunter.." How does someone on Poemhunter know how many readers that they get per day?
On PH Paul, you can only like comments, not poems. You can " Rate" a poem here, but often ratings are not heartfelt but a subtle attempt to get others to reciprocate, to visit your site and give you a high rating as well. PoetrySoup for example does not allow a rating but only comments which can be used the same way. I used to comment other's poems but stopped doing so under my name. I rate others more anonymously by sending messages or comments under a pen name.
I suppose the real measure is not how many read a poem, it is how many people react to the poem by rating it. It is like Facebook. Thousands can read a given post. The real value of the post is the number of people who press " Like."
PoemHunter is strange Paul. PH only tells you how many 'Hits' your main page has received per day. In 'Member Area' chose 'Poem and Poet Settings, ' then select 'Stats' or 'More Stats.' Under 'More Stats' you can see how many 'Hits' you get each day, what poems were selected, and how many times they were selected. Some days I get well over 1,000 'Hits' but there are rarely more than 50 poems read. Go figure!
PoetrySoup (where I also publish my poetry) tells one exactly how many people have 'viewed' a poem. But who knows if they actually read the whole thing? For example one more popular poem, written on Nov.20,20 there has been read 151 times in one month. Another poem composed of 4 limericks written on Nov 24,20 won an award in a contest there and has had 251 readers in about the same amount of time.
