Ph: Faith: In God's Image Poem by Brian Johnston

Ph: Faith: In God's Image

Oh, what does this mean? "Man is made in God's image! "
Our hope here appears both sweet dream, and delight?
Not a homage to self, but salvation from damage,
A prayer of faith when cold fear floods the night!

The 'freedom to choose, ' gift from God to take pride in?
Are errs we commit too, more steps toward the Truth,
And life's journey a process that lifts us above sin,
Not curse God imposes, or taint born of youth!

"All roads go to Rome! " the vain words of a sinner,
"Faith leads you to God! " is Christ Jesus' response!
See God's table before us, incredible dinner,
Man's effort is nothing to Grace's nuance!

Can God be a God Who has limits a man does?
Would God still be God if what's TRUE is His God?
Does a promise restrain God and void new agendas?
To some God with standards perhaps may seem odd?

Are feelings a gift that suggest we're God's children?
God both male and female as Bible makes plain?
Does some weakness of women mean man's then her sovereign?
Both sexes, God's Nature, suggests that's insane!

When feelings mislead are they our bad reactions
Or part of God's purpose to help us to grow?
Can a feeling be sinful or only our actions?
To serve You needs whole heart Lord, this much I know!

Humility attribute found in Creator?
Christ's death on the cross not time's top gift of love?
It seems clear if God's real that God's not just spectator
But right there beside us when push comes to shove!

Does God learn from us too, delight in our action?
Though children, do we help God see the world new?
Paradox has no limit, our intellect fraction
(At best)of God's Nature, at least that's my view!

One line helps define the rest: To some God with standards perhaps may seem odd? Then to reassure us that we have a great God: See God's table before us, incredible dinner, Man's effort is nothing to Grace's nuance! And claim again that wonderful gift, And life's journey a process that lifts us above sin, Not curse God imposes, or taint born of youth! Thanks Brian for taking a stab at some fairly difficult concepts concerning Christ and the Triune God.
