Peggy's Cove Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Peggy's Cove

Peggy's Cove

Internet and questions and the notes, of others
I dreamed of a cave in colours, saw pictures
I arrived in the town and reserved a place
Paid by card, in advance…

Night approached and sun down and all dark
I drove and drove, narrow road was winding
And I lost…no number; saw no sign
Heart throbbed till niceness came, surfaced
The owners and the guest in motels and the rest.

I ended in place, man had cat and had tents
I had mine.

“This is my secret path…and the key…”
The man said: “You can leave the cable…take your cash.”
In morning I smiled filled with joy: “How nice is human! ”

Meant trust, honesty and good work
I love the Halifax…
