Paula Deens’ Boys Poem by Marilyn Lott

Paula Deens’ Boys

Rating: 5.0

I’d like to share my visit to Savannah, Georgia
A setting that was wonderful of course
While there I saw Paula Deen’s restaurant
After visiting with a wagon-drawn horse

I had purchased a Paula Deen magazine
From a shop right down the street
Along with souvenirs in Paula’s gift shop
Then you’ll never guess who I would meet

“Do you have a magazine? ” the lady asked
When I said yes, she then sent me
Into an adjoining room and my goodness
You’d not believe who I would see

Jamie Deen stood behind a counter
Looked exactly like he did on TV
I’m sure I giggled like a teen girl
He grinned when he looked up and saw me

“Could I have your autograph, ” I asked him
He said, “Sure you can, baaaby! ”
Of course I had to give him a hug
And then guess who else I would see?

Into the room came his brother, Bobby
I got a hug from him as well
So excited and could have melted in a puddle
If you saw the pictures you could tell

For that was the special day last summer
When Savannah, Georgia I would visit
I’ll never forget meeting Paula’s boys
It was a day that was truly exquisite!
