Patriot And Nationalist Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Patriot And Nationalist

Patriot and nationalist

Nothing can change
Not even modern age
We live with tradition
No more new adoption

How long Africa shall remain?
Divided and threatened
With sea piracy as main business
We are painted as robbers

Somewhere we manage to loot
And sometimes face heavy shoot out
But we are now proving tough for world peace
Everywhere it is open rebellion and thirst for power

I don't know how far the international community
But certainly it has drained our economy
We are starving and food aid is not sufficient
The open option is to loot and survive at present

Will we be same again?
I feel pain
When claim to be patriot and nationalist
It is not the view of rationalist

Lilian Dipasupil Kunimasa Thank you brother... When the basic needs are not met ideals are easy to forget. What really saddens me is that poverty and crime are often not caused by shortage but by greed of some. Yet must we succumb to apathy? Though the poem was written for brothers and sisters in Kenya, I believe it is for many of us as well. Where hope and love are gone, we see that evil has won. Unlike · Reply · 1 · 1 hr
