Patience Poem by D.J. Ray

Patience

patience for the mother
overwhelmed by grief
patience to the son
destroyed by his father
patience for the baby
lying in the gutter
they ask for patience.

patience?

did patience save the mother?
living in the asylum
did patience save the son?
beaten senseless
what about the bady?
who lies dead in the gutter

are there lives so worthless?

and the cry is for patience?

NO
give me action
to you we are just dots on a map
stars in an endless sky

but the mother
deserves retribution
the son
deserves safety
the child
needs a home

open your eyes! !
we cannot sit and let the tyranny go on as we wait

the call is for action

each dot is a city
each star a burning flame

LET US WAIT NO MORE
