Paper Mache Poem by D.J. Ray

Paper Mache

walls
hold it all back
i can see you don't believe
your own words
as they drip like poison past your beautiful lips
delicious poison
and i don't say anything back
i know my voice will break
no tears allowed
i knew you'd end up playing
me
him
but you won't see me cry
that comes later
pretend to be invincible
even as bullets sink in
to my paper mache body
shattering paper skin
untill
my glue soaked soul
dripps out
like water
in a sunset beach
or blood
soaking the asphalt ground
