Patchwork Heart Poem by Nicole GravellPellerino

Patchwork Heart

Rating: 0.5

It's not an image
one may contemplate,
nor a picture-perfect
aspect of your mind,
one thing may be certain,
that the beauty it reveals,
and ultimately shines upon the world,
is a force so amazing and incredible,
it baffles minds

Beyond undoubted belief,
and if could only envision
pieces of this inconceivable wonder
ripped out,
without an instance of hesitation,
and at the most heart wrenching of times,
not replaced with the same endearment,
but when the connection,
as strong and vital as ever,
the piece, once torn out so effortlessly,
are no longer empty,

Filled with the fragments of another's heart
that never quite fit right,
but in its own way,
under the watch of a not so common eye,
it reveals a sense of beauty all it own,
a patchwork heart,
captive in everybody,
hidden behind the mask of
the superficial world,
only to be revealed to
the souls of many
when they look past that world
into the windows of the soul,
and observe another for who
they truly are
