Only Out Of Love No Expectations Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Only Out Of Love No Expectations

There are many living to choose,
Of doing good deeds.
For others without this to ask.
Or expecting to receive,
An expressed gratitude...
Anticipating to get.
Although there are others,
Reminding some of what they've done.
At what time and on which day.
With a sending them notes,
Written and wrote to underline boldly.

'A THANK YOU WOULD BE NICE TO SAY.
TO ME...ESPECIALLY.
FOR GOING OUT OF MY WAY.
AND SACRIFICING MY TIME.
TWO DAYS AGO.
BUT I DO UNDERSTAND,
YOU HAVE OTHER THINGS ON YOUR MIND.
WITH A FORGETTING WHAT IT WAS,
I DID JUST FOR YOU.
Anonymously sent.
However...
You 'should' know who this is! '

"HI.
Yeah it's me.
You sound surprised.
I didn't forget you.
Or what it was you did for me.
Remember I thanked you.
By taking you out,
To your favorite restaurant.
Then bought you,
That expensive and gift wrapped...
Bottle of wine."

-Yes.
Yes, yes yes.
Now I remember.
Maybe it was the candlelight.
Burning so bright.
That I could not see or notice,
Who in that restaurant knew...
You were actually thanking me.
As I sat looking around.
Blinded by your gratitude.
So glad I am you called.
But next time,
Don't go out of your way like that.
By now you should know,
I am humble and do what I do...
Only out of love with no expectations.-
