Oozing from the mouth of a 'beggar'
'One day 'e go better''
But we run helter skelter
What a prolonged siesta.
Even tomorrow promises hotter
For our youths seem not better
How shall we stop being beggars
When only 'the few' share our buggars
Entrusted with our needs
With just a quid, they toy with us like kids
Imagine their golden beads
Million people a life time, it can feed
What can they offer but a legacy of greed
Profusely my eyes bleed
To see the society rearing the same breed
One day 'e go better' indeed'!
As taught by the creed
For divine intervention I'd plead
Knowing that except He leads
In vain the leaders lead
My dear poet, I must confess this is really great. They have no legacy but a legacy of greed. It's just an epitome of what is going on in Nigeria today. Nice work. Keep it up!
