On The Death Of Elizabeth Ii (Italian Sonnet)

Traditionally British people have a saying
as if God do their true leaders ordain,
to by their birth and inheritance to reign:
'the queen is dead, long live the king.'

With Elizabeth II this is quite a thing,
by example she did her nation sustain,
lived through both happiness and pain,
did hope and a way of life to her people bring.

If Charles just as level-headed could be,
could follow all the lessons learned,
in her steps his leadership could take,
in him a just and honest person one would see,
with a sense of greater good for to yearn
and a far better world it would make.
