On The Cellphone Poem by Daniel Trevelyn Joseph

On The Cellphone

Saw this woman walking in front
On the low lane between home
And the main BKC road and was struck
By the motion where the top of her butts

Move from side to side,
Reminding me of Sudha's imitation
Of Som in Kolhapur when he came
As Prant Officer, Shahuwadi division.

Later I saw a younger girl
In laced white dress
The breasts tightly packed
And remaining in shape

Movement is steady and forward
The waist is small and no sidling
But intent only on her cellphone
Most people are absorbed on.
