On My Birthday Poem by Pramod Pisharody

Since the morning today,
On my birthday,
Came many wishes and greetings,
For all new beginnings,
As I sat back to write a note of thanks,
Amidst the letters and blanks,
In came a few thoughts,
Sharing here the extempore lot,
As I completed 37,
Need a break from the routine 7 - 11,
Half of my life behind,
Another half waiting for the grind,
A new chapter to begin,
A change to come from within,
Many well wishers to support,
Still many to build rapport,
Oases seem near, yet quite far,
A long journey to be 'at par',
A 'rebirth' on this birthday,
Sun's shining, time to make hay!
