Success With Customer Focus Poem by Pramod Pisharody

Success With Customer Focus

Sales goes on a business call,
Near the customer, they stand tall,
Customer asks to come at another date,
Sales say 'Oh Sir! That would be too late'
As customer mentions their pain area,
Sales look for the best fit criteria,
Client asks for a budgetary quote,
It's time to make a final meeting note,
The opportunity comes up in a register,
With each sales call, its priority gets greater,
Now to create the unique value proposition,
How about the competitors' position,
Before the solution fits in,
All necessary approvals have to be in,
What was single party turns out to be an open tender,
Then run for discounts behind every vendor,
Decks, meetings, calls and emails,
Make sure nothing fails,
On or before the tender due day,
Courier. online or hand carry, no delay,
Bid opening, competition knockout and best price,
Finally comes the order, time for drinks n spice!
Now comes the job handover,
Projects and Engineering recall their old hangover,
Finally the order gets booked,
In the kickoff comes something possibly overlooked!
Project schedules get delayed,
Vendors come under 'pay when paid',
What comes in parts was something called 'payment in advance',
Is this some cash flow, asks Finance
Milestones and credit periods grow longer,
Customer expectations get higher,
Whatever the required improvements,
Don't matter the investments,
Finally, customer handover at site,
Everyone sees a ray of light,
Thus comes satisfactory completion and performance,
Dedicated efforts bought about a renaissance,
A good reference,
A future preference,
Did someone guess it right?
Yes, this is the insight,
There is always a 'customer focus',
Here's another opportunity - let's discuss!
