Omo Titun (A New Child) Poem by Olufayo Ezekiel

Omo Titun (A New Child)

Uwhan! Uwhan! Uwhan!
Omotitun is here.
a visitor to the world;
sprouting out of womb,
with blood bathe.

new!
peaceful!
innocent!
kind!

Uwhan! Uwhan! Uwhan!
Omotitun cries;
of the world unknown.
With a ray of hope;
for the future obscure.

destiny!
myths!
mysteries!
legends!

Uwhan! Uwhan! Uwhan!
Omotitun cries;
a signal of the living.
The parents are lift with a sign of joy.

Songs!
drums!
dance!
drinks!

yeh! yeh! yeh!
Omotitun shouts.
still crawling in her ageing years;
with ill marks on her body.

Kings!
Tribes!
Gluttons!
Crises!

Huh! Huh! Huh!
Omotitun screams;
from the pains of the past.
Rolling on a joint;
like a still ocean.

Agonies!
Tears!
Comm-raids!
Masses!

Pain! Pain! Pain!
Omotitun cries;
from accidental memorial woes.
Omotitun come a new yearly;
parents out to feast her day.

Methuselah!
Locust seasons!
Visions!
Hope?
