Two children
made an awning
from the branches
of an olive tree.
Suddenly the wind
destroy it.
In the same way
when they reached
their home
bombs ruined it.
They grew up-
Two white rivers
bursting from the eyes
of the earth,
to give life
to the olive trees..

There is such a grave beauty in this poem about violence- that takes a lot of talent to achieve. 10+++
Thank you Susan, really always we get a wonderful surprise comment from you, that is what the professional and poetry expert do... Regards
From what source the destruction came, from the same source peace also has emanated. The children who had to suffer the pangs of destruction turned out to be boons by being the agents of nourishment.....! They didn't keep any resentment against those who destroyed their calm, instead they turned out to be blessings....! Beautiful way of presenting! Great poem Soran!
