Old poems are like old shoes
That we refuse to discard
Like old thoughts can't disregard
Or old roads we love to cruise.
Old poems are now obviously famous
Like old flip flops that are comfortable
Witnessed of many stories around the table
Where grandma once sat feisty and beauteous.
Old poems are like a refined wine
They get better as age and time intertwine
And we dream of the good old days.
Old shoes are kept in the basement
Not too far from the two fireplaces
Where are located the signs for rent.
