Oh Moon Poem by Dorothy (Alves) Holmes

Oh Moon

Quiet your midnight song
pulling and knocking at
the ear of my tearful heart
abandoned at twilight long ago...

Sing no more your melodies
of love...
Free me from the clutches of
Your Moon-lit spell.

So slyly you smile as if to warn
of tomorrow's awakening when
you haved tossed aside your mask of
ravenous desire.
