Oh Feather, Lighter Than Air Poem by Keith Parsons

Oh Feather, Lighter Than Air

Oh jealousy- a feather lighter than air
Buoyed high by the breeze
Soar and sway as you slice the sky
And write comments on the clouds
Penned by greed

And I with feet firm and toes curled in disgust
Shake my fist at what the privileged do
Shaken again for stealing my sky
Ah… the dream of the ages, and today
You beautiful feather, float on by

Lovely and silky, I think I’ll make a hat for you
Your days of flying are through
You’ll sit here on my head with me
And we’ll two together shake and curse
The other feathers flying free
