Plants And Trees Poem by Keith Parsons

Plants And Trees

Rating: 5.0

I’ve always liked a Weeping Willow
Her hanging skirt enshrouded me
I’d pull the leaves along the bark
And throw them to the sharks I see

And helicopters fell from Maples
And hand grenades were pulled for fun
From Magnolia’s favorite fragrance
I’d duck and roll and jump and run

I’d hide behind the snowball lady
Or blend in red Azalea style
And keep away from poisoned vine
And swim in seas of green grass pile

The Oak would offer up some nuts
Black Walnuts found around the ground
Would feed the furry legged rodents
Who scattered quickly from the hounds

My world of plants and trees and things
Kept me entertained, you see
A natural kind of boyhood rising
Natural world for natural me

A pleasing poem, Keith...shows how deeply you get involved with nature around...the last stanza lines read particularly very good...10

Here you discussed about Weeping Willow, Bark, Maples, Magnolia, Snowball Lady, Azalea, Oak, Black Walnuts out of which in my country only Magnolia is available. I enjoyed this piece a lot.
