Off-Course Poem by Mark Heathcote

Off-Course

I've been watching the moon,
Ever since I fell in love with you
Realizing my heart isn't immune
From stumbling over going eschew
Now, I'm a victim of a promise
That has me awkwardly gift-wrapped,
Unwrapped, avoiding a life of debauchery,
Promiscuity, drowning in the wilderness
Fallen like a windless sail aversely
Off-course but momentarily for a brief second happy.
