Of The Rocks Poem by Pradip Saikia

Of The Rocks

The voices wafts from the rock
The voice with a garb of mosses
Water oozes out from the rock
In the entwined growl
Leaf tearing cries

They are pieced up
Blazing
Sharp
Solid like a flat hot pillar
Pierces the heart
Blood spills out

The herbivorous brays
Coming out of the subterranean world
The ferocious roar
Uprooting the roots
Sound of crunching flesh
Beyond the echo

Except the cries
Naked crimson hills
And
The naked woods
The dirty torrid pools
Silent
Deadlike
Frightened

The earth shakes
Dark blood lava

Dance
Dance danseuse Phuleswari
Look
How the virgin earth has emerged
From the rocks
With an ancient smell
Million years of past
