Numb It Right Away. Poem by chantel weston

Numb It Right Away.

theres a pain that i have learnt to ignor.
something that has dulled over time
something that you dont feel unless you touch it
or some one else touches it.
something that makes you gasp it its rubed the wrong way,
and makes you cry if you dont numb it right away.
this something is that first wound in you back
that first time a friend waits for you to turn around
and then shoves the blade in deep and fast
but they dont let be a smooth clean cut no they jerk the knife around while it sits in your back.
you try to get it out but there is no way you have to get some one else
to help get that blade out.
and it hurts. it hurts to know that your friend would go and attack you.
it hurts to feel just how untrust worthy they are with every breath.

that blade never comes fully out
no not from the first one.
it sits and reminds you of how close you came to bleeding out
to loseing life to loseing a friend
to loseing things you cant live with out.
and it sits to cause you pain every time you touch it
thinking that it is healed
every time you think its only a scar you find that its still an open wound.
