Nothingness Poem by Jennifer Hartzell

Nothingness

Rating: 5.0

The life once lived snatched away,
by the inconceivable obsession,
to drown out the pain and suffering.
As you once were,
you are no more.
The life you once owned was a sure fixation,
on the person you were not.
But now this new life you have sought out,
has brought you no more meaning and hope,
just more suffrage and sorrow.
And yet now you wish it were to be true,
that you are not you,
that one slip,
can cause reality to rip
and fade leisurely away.
