The Legacy Unlived Poem by Jennifer Hartzell

With the undertones of immortality
of the fatality
which seeks to acquire
the breath which her heart desires
sleeping through the signs
their lives that have been intertwined
now becomes unraveled
and the road they had traveled
will be forsaken
the feelings of grief will be reawaken
by the sight he tried to erase
of that lonely place
which his heart now tries to regain
nothing of his memories of love remains
for her life has passed his lips
and ended with one last kiss
the legacy left behind
fills his subconscious mind
of the memories of love
and those ones undreamed of
