Nothing Has Changed So Far Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Nothing Has Changed So Far

Rating: 5.0

Whole of the world has changed
The wars have been averted or managed
The moon has been scaled many times
But nothing has changed for girls in recent times

The crime graph has gone up
Many young girls are raped
Not only in night time
But in broad day light sometimes

The law does not deter
The situation has not altered
At home too they have to suffer
What have we for them offer?

Parents love their children
They go out of way often
Bring them up with best possible help
They have no more means to strengthen the steps

It is alright for affluent families
They can withstand and show the capability
With poor back ground, the village girls suffer more
They have to remain indoors and find place no where

Many western countries might have improved
Yet some of the Asian countries have remained static and not moved
Kept pace along with the changing world
They are still in the same Dark Age old

They are great force to reckon with
Today they are not only educated but armed with teeth
All provisions are made to safe guard their modesty
Let us pray sincerely for their upkeep and safety
