Nothing Belonged To Me Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Nothing Belonged To Me

Nothing belonged to me
Wednesday,26th May 2021

Nothing belonged to me
even though being a human and free
always peace heart
and believed in the humanitarian art

it always pained
when read about the plight of people
who had to undergo duress
and face many difficulties

what belonged to me?
no place to live in as a free man
no nationality
as I roamed like a gipsy

nobody took me seriously
as I talked of humanity
peace and stability
and acceptance of it universally

I have no place to claim
not even a small place on earth to maintain
I look towards the sky
and try to express my woes

Am I so unwarranted?
and not wanted by anyone
why the wind has blown in the opposite direction?
is the talk of human relationships so absurd?
